He further shared that he himself had jokes that had been passed down from generation to generation, including the well-known birthday greeting line, "Ang birthday wish ko, mabuhay ka hanggang gusto mo."
Brod Pete believed that once you tell a joke, you are sharing it and not stealing it.
It can be recalled that Alex Calleja and Chito Franciso were involved in a "nakaw joke" issue recently.
Calleja ended up consulting lawyers about the issue while Franciso issued a public apology. At the end, everything ended well between the two.
"'Yang jokes are meant to be shared, to be enjoyed as many people," he said. "'Pag pinabayaan mo na 'yan, it belongs to the world. Kapag binitawan mo na 'yun, wala nang may-ari nu'n."
He also said it makes him happy when someone uses his jokes because it simply proves that his jokes are indeed funny.
"May sariling buhay and joke," he added.
