However, this prompted one netizen to leave a comment about the skit, saying, "As a florist, na-offend ako that she rejected the flowers."

Eventually, Rica responded to the netizen and said it was just a joke, and even went as far as to explain the context of her funny skit.

"It's a joke naman. Kahit naman yung kanta ni Miley Cyrus doesn't really mean don't give flowers but symbolically it's something girls can give to themselves even if a guy doesn't want to. And even here, it's something we can buy for ourselves but since sobrang mahal ng manuka, sana give me na lang manuka, ako na lang bibili ng bulaklak for myself. Sana po hindi ko na 'to kailangang explain kasi medyo nawawala yung humor in it all. sana rin wag naman natin seryosohin at hindi ko naman sinasabing walang kwenta ang florists," she explained.

Rica then continued onto her Instagram story, saying the comment made her sad because everything nowadays seems to be "offensive."

"This comment makes me sad cause parang lahat na lang nowadays ay "offenseive." To begin with, the material isn't even really talking about boycotting flower-giving or florists, but it's a play with the popular song—which consequently says IF GUYS DON'T LIKE TO GIVE ME WHAT I NEED, I CAN GET IT MYSELF. Which means, I may buy the flowers for myself, why do I need anyone to do that? Hayyyyy. Pero pinaka-sad ako na need ko explain yung breadth of the message. Naging seryoso pa tuloy," she wrote.
