Heart Evangelista’s recent Instagram live with her husband, Senate President Chiz Escudero, received a forthright remark about the latter’s statement on holidays in the Philippines.

During the live broadcast, one netizen left a comment addressed to the senator.

 “‘Wag pong bawasan ang holiday,” the netizen said.

Heart then defended her spouse and described the said remark as “fake news.”

“Hindi po babawasan ang holiday. Fake news. Hindi lang dadagdagan,” the Kapuso A-list celebrity said.

She then urged the public, “So ‘wag na po kayo uminit ulo dahil hindi po siya babawasan. Na-fake news na naman tayo. Masyadong active sa social media.”

Earlier, Chiz said in a press conference that there are already too many holidays in the country, making Filipino companies and workers “less competitive.”
