John Arcilla grieves death of his dog: “You could have been 18 years old next year”

- John Arcilla has taken to Instagram to express how sad he still is over the passing of his pet dog

- His pooch was with him for a long time and noted that he would be 18 years old next year

- The actor also said that only fur parents would be able to understand how he feels

- He revealed that his dog simply settled in his embrace for the last time

John Arcilla has taken to Instagram to share about the passing of his dog, Twinzie.

In an emotional post, he shared how Twinzie would always be sleeping on his chest.

He also noted that only fur parents can ever understand the feeling of losing a pet.

“You were the MOST ATTENTIVE, your stare will never ever leave us until we close the door,” John wrote in his post.

“And you will not move even a single second in the car as long as youre on my lap or you will be restless quarreling everyone until you get unto my lap; you will sleep on my chest as long as you can as if it is your whole world,” he further wrote.
“How can we ever forget that Oh only Furparents can totally understand. You could have been 18 years old next year our Dear Twinzie. Putting you to sleep was never an option and you naturally rested in my embrace just awhile ago today,” the actor said.
“I know you know you were loved and taken good care of in the most special way,” he added.

John also underscored how his dog would give them unconditional love for the past several years.

“You showered us with all your unconditional love and we are thanking you for every single second that you loved us. Runfree our Twinzie, you were the eldest this year and we are so blessed you stayed a little longer,” the actor wrote.

“You are Loved you are special… run… runfree as we cuddle you with our term of endearment…They will never understand but thats how happy you were everytime you hear those singsong phrase that only made sense to you and to us,” John said in his post.

John Arcilla, whose full name is Romeo Gonzales Arcilla, is an acclaimed actor and environmentalist from the Philippines. He is best known for playing the lead role of Antonio Luna in the historical drama, 'Heneral Luna'. John won the Best Actor Award at the 78th Venice Film Festival for his lead role in the film ‘On the Job: The Missing 8.’

Last April, John shared insights on children supporting their aging parents, sparked by Dani Barretto's viral comments. The actor emphasized the natural duty of offspring to care for their parents, rejecting the notion of such support as a debt. He also highlighted the cyclical nature of familial relationships, where caregiving roles evolve over time. Nonetheless, John clarified that it is a different matter for children who were abused, treated badly, or neglected by their parents.

A month before that, he also took to Facebook to express his opinion over the labrador retriever Killua. The actor said that golden retrievers are not aggressive dogs. He also underscored that they would jump at a person to be cuddled but not to assault. Along with other actors, John also calls for justice for Killua, and likewise posted a photo of Anthony Solares, the man who admitted to killing the dog.
