Amy Perez, a known actress and one of the hosts of “It’s Showtime, slammed the use of her face and voice, which was apparently manipulated using artificial intelligence or AI in a video endorsing a menopausal drug.

In the said advertisement, one can see Amy talking to a person who looked like a medical professional, and attesting to the efficacy of the said menopausal drug.

The actress, in an Instagram post, has since denied having any link to the advertisement or company involved in the video.

She also warned viewers not to believe anything they encounter on social media.

“Fake ads. Mag ingat po tayo. I don’t use that product and never ako nag review nyan. Ginamit ang interview namin ni Doc at gumamit sila ng AI para palabasin na boses ko at sinabi ko ang brand na ito. I did not authorize the use of my picture here,” Amy said in her post.

“Talagang pinakinggan ko parang boses ko talaga ang galing pero sobrang nakakatakot… Hindi ko tinatake ‘yung gamot na ‘yon ever,” she added.

The actress then lamented that a lot of women had been commenting on the video and many of them were asking about the price of the product.

“Ang nakakalungkot doon ang daming babaeng nagcomment na puro tinatanong nila magkano ‘yung produkto,” Amy said.

Amy Perez is a veteran host and actress in the Philippines. She is one of the hosts of the ABS-CBN variety program “It’s Showtime” and is known as a loyal Kapamilya.

Last year during her interview over “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she was asked about her thoughts on the competition between local noontime shows. The “It’s Showtime” host then said she was pleased because the competition was healthy. She also expressed delight that people in front of and behind the camera have jobs.

She also trended online two years ago due to her “grace under fire” moment on the TeleRadyo program "Sakto.” The fire alarm went off while Amy was delivering her spiel on the morning show. Amy delivered her story calmly and clearly – finishing the spiel before finally evacuating. Jeff Canoy shared that no one was hurt during the incident and all of them headed back to the building to work again.
