Dennis Trillo has made it clear that he is not interested in getting into a physical confrontation with Patrick after a netizen challenged him to a fight amid the renewed discussion surrounding Patrick Garcia’s past relationship with Jennylyn Mercado.

The exchange happened in the comments section of one of Trillo’s social media posts. A netizen directly suggested that the Kapuso actor and Patrick settle their issues through a fistfight, writing:
“Suntukan po kayo ni Patrick.”
Rather than accepting the challenge, Trillo responded with a brief but striking remark:

His response quickly circulated online, with screenshots of the exchange gaining attention from netizens. Some followers found Trillo’s reply amusing, while others interpreted it as a pointed response amid the ongoing controversy involving Garcia.
The “starfish” reference also caught the attention of social media users because of the connection to Patrick Star, the pink starfish character from the animated series “SpongeBob SquarePants.” Several commenters continued to joke about the exchange and expressed their support for Trillo.
The incident came as the names of Trillo and Garcia continued to make rounds online following Garcia’s recent discussion of his past relationship with Jennylyn and their son, Alex Jazz.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Garcia revisited the circumstances surrounding his former relationship with Mercado and explained why he decided to speak publicly about the issue after many years.
Garcia said his decision was partly prompted by the online criticism received by his daughter, Michelle. He also discussed his relationship with Jazz and maintained that he loves all of his children.
The renewed discussion prompted Trillo to previously address the issue on social media. While he said he was against online bashing, he also acknowledged Garcia’s mention of Jazz.
“Hindi ako pabor sa bashing, pero salamat at naalala mo si Jazz dahil sa pag-bash sa anak mo. Spread love, not hate,” Trillo wrote.
Trillo’s subsequent social media interactions continued to attract attention from followers, particularly because of his role as Mercado’s husband and as someone who has been part of Jazz’s life.
Garcia, for his part, said in his interview that he was happy to know that people love and care for Jazz. He also expressed appreciation for those who have taken a fatherly role in the young man’s life.
“Masaya ako kasi may nagmamahal kay Jazz... Pag may nakikita akong maraming nagmamahal kay Jazz, nakakatuwa... I’m happy for that and I commend that. I like seeing that,” Garcia said.
Meanwhile, Mercado has chosen not to directly participate in the renewed public discussion. Her talent agency, Aguila Entertainment, said the actress would rather remain silent to protect the privacy and peace of both families.
The agency also appealed to the public to refrain from directing negative comments toward Michelle, who became part of the online discussion surrounding her father’s statements.
