Miss Universe El Salvador has finally broken their silence on their viral now-deleted post about the Top 5 candidates of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador.

During the prestigious pageant’s coronation night, Miss U El Salvador’s Instagram page, with the handle @missuniversosv, became trending for posting a graphic showing an erroneous list of Top 5 candidates.

In the graphic, Philippine bet Michelle Dee was shown instead of Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild. It was immediately replaced by a graphics card showing Thailand’s representative in the list.

In a statement, the page apologized for their mistake and explained that they accidentally mixed up the names of the two finalists.

“Our mistake! In the rush to get our posts up during Saturday’s live broadcast, we accidentally mixed up the names of two finalists.”

Miss U El Salvador also clarified that they have no “special access” to the results.

“This was a simple error of moving too fast - we heard the same results live at the same time that you all did, no special access over here! We’re sorry to both finalists.”

Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She represented the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.

The said post was an art card displaying an erroneous list of Miss U 2023’s Top 5, where Michelle was included instead of Thailand’s representative.
