A certification was issued by the House of Representatives in favor of Hon. Juan Carlos C. Atayde, more popularly known as Arjo Atayde.

As shared by ABS-CBN, the certification shows that Congress issued him a Travel Authority, allowing him to attend the international screening of the movie "Topakk" at the 2023 Locarno International Film Festival.

The same certification also explicitly noted that Arjo did not request any kind of funding from the House of Representatives, signifying that he will be using his personal funds for the said trip, and that no government funds will be used for any of his expenses.

Arjo Atayde is one of the most versatile actors in the industry. Previously, he won Best Actor at the 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards for his role in “Bagman”. He is also the son of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez and the fiancé of Maine Mendoza.

Maine has taken to Twitter and expressed her indignation over an article about her and Arjo's trip abroad. She said that the article was still misleading and that it lacked context. She added that it still insinuated that the trip was at government expense. The actress also said that she hopes that the article can insert that no government funds will be used.
