Kennedy Nakar, an actor, model, and vlogger, passed away at the age of 24. He died due to complications from leukemia.

In a Facebook post last June, Kennedy announced that he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia.

He had to undergo chemotherapy immediately but it was not enough to save his life.

“Hello guys! Few weeks ago, everyone was panicking with the results of my blood chem. Blood components were really low and unstabled. It seems that every cells inside my body is fighting each other.

“I was admitted to the hospital on June 3, 2023

“On June 5, I underwent with a procedure called Bonemarrow Aspiration to check and diagnose me exactly.

“After that day, I went to another test, the 2D-Echo to check my heart. Few hours laters, a Cardiologist visited me and told me that my pericardium has collected liquid and since pericardium is not expandable the heart is being affected and it might collapse anytime. So on June 7, another operation has been done and this is to put a pericardial catheter.

“June 10, 2023, the result of my bonemarrow has been released and yes, I've been diagnosed with an Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a very rare but an aggressive one. My Hematologist doctor said, chemotheraphy is the only way to treat this and must be done as soon as possible,” Kennedy posted a month ago.

Kennedy had a boyfriend named Paul Cervantes, who is also an actor. They have a vlog on YouTube called PaulKen TV and they both starred in the BL series ”Lakan“ in 2020. On Facebook, Paul uploaded a video of him crying beside the lifeless body of Kennedy. He did not abandon Kennedy amid the latter’s health woes.

Aside from Kennedy, there were other local celebrities who died recently.

Comedian Willie Nepomuceno has passed away at the age of 75. His family announced the heartbreaking news in a social media post. According to the bereaved family, Nepomuceno died on July 26, 2023.

Mario Dumaual’s family confirmed that the ABS-CBN reporter has passed away. In a statement, his family announced that Dumaual died on July 5 at 8:01 a.m. Dumaual, who would have turned 65 on July 31, died due to septic shock. Several celebrities have taken to social media to express their heartbreak and to send condolences to Dumaual’s loved ones. They include Julius Babao, Kuya Kim Atienza, John Arcilla, Pokwang, Wilbert Tolentino, Jed Madela, and Jugs Jugueta.
