He first asked Nay Cristy if he could sing for her and Romel, the show’s co-host.

“Pwede ba kitang kantahan? Kakantahan ko kayo ni Romel! O eto ha,” Joey said and then he performed the song.
“Mula sa nuwebe, sa dos at siyete. Ngayon sa singko, to make history. Buong siyam na president, pag bulaga, may nag-50,” Joey sang.

The comedian and TV host, along with former Sen. Tito Sotto, also confirmed the transfer of the comic trio, TVJ, along with the “Dabarkads” to TV5.

TVJ is composed of Joey, Tito, and Vic Sotto. They made headlines when the comic trio, in a sudden turn of events, announced they are parting with TAPE, Inc., the producer of “Eat Bulaga,” beginning May 31.

Their co-hosts, often referred to as the “Dabarkads,” along with the staff and personnel of “Eat Bulaga,” also resigned en masse from TAPE in a show of solidarity with TVJ.

Today, June 7, MediaQuest, one of the parent companies of TV5, in a statement announced it has entered into an agreement with TVJ and the “Dabarkads” to create content for TV5.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. "Eat Bulaga" went back live on air with its new lineup of hosts.

In another interview, this time with MJ Marfori, Joey talked about the transfer of TVJ to TV5. Today, June 7, MediaQuest released a statement confirming that it has entered into an agreement with TVJ and the “Dabarkads” to provide content for TV5. MediaQuest also stated that TVJ would also be providing content for all other companies under the firm. In a subsequent interview, Joey talked about various things they have gone through and learned over several decades of being together and hosting Eat Bulaga.

A member of the "Dabarkads" of "Eat Bulaga," Wally Bayola, also took to social media and reacted to the good news about TVJ. The iconic trio — consisting of Tito, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon — and their co-hosts on “Eat Bulaga” will transfer to TV5. In an Instagram post, Wally shared a teaser video about their forthcoming show on the network. In the caption, the comedian also wrote a short yet exciting message to their fans.
