Paolo Contis has received a congratulatory and heartwarming message of support from his older brother, Carlo Stefano Contis.

In a report by GMA Entertainment news, Carlo posted on Facebook his congratulatory message and voiced his pride in Paolo as one of the new hosts of “Eat Bulaga.”

GMA also reported that Carlo expressed his full support and confidence in the ability of his younger brother in making the most of his duties and responsibilities as host of the longest-running noontime show.

“Congratulations Paolo! I am very proud of you! Not many people can do what you did. Accepting a job on short notice and making the most of it,” Carlo reportedly posted as quoted by GMA Entertainment News.

“I know you took a lot of heat today. Maski ako pinadalhan ng feedback. Not all first days on the job are great. It will just get better from here. Stay strong brother from the same mother,” Carlo reportedly said.

According to a Rappler report, the new hosts of “Eat Bulaga,” aside from Carlo, are the Legaspi twins, Cassy and Mavy, Buboy Villar, singer-actress Alexa Miro, and Betong Sumaya.

The same report revealed that, except for Alexa, the rest of the hosts are under Sparkle GMA Artists Center.

The sudden change was brought about by the unexpected turn of events last May 31 that saw Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, otherwise known as TVJ, announcing live that they are disassociating themselves from TAPE, Inc.

TAPE, a private corporation with majority stake owned by the Jalosjos family, is the producer of “Eat Bulaga.”

In another report by Philippine Star, TitoSen has announced that they would be ready to make an announcement by June 7 as regards their plans.

“We have yet to decide. We agreed among ourselves that by June 7 we will be ready to announce. If things work out the way we want it to, perhaps at least baka the first week of July we would be able to air,” TitoSen said as quoted by the PhilStar report.

Eat Bulaga is the longest-running noontime program in the world. Its hosts, including Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Joey De Leon, Maine Mendoza, and others announced last May 31 that they are separating from TAPE Inc., the company that produces the show. It is not yet clear as of this writing if the hosts will take the Eat Bulaga title with them to another network or if TAPE Inc. will keep the iconic name.

In a related article by KAMI, TAPE Inc. continued using the Eat Bulaga name in the title of its GMA program even after Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon resigned. In the middle of the dispute, Tito took to Twitter to share a quote about International Copyright. International Copyright supposedly dictates that creators are rightful owners of their work whether they applied to trademark it or not.

The former senator also shared recently that he received a message of support from fellow former legislator, Senator Ping Lacson as regards the controversy between TVJ and TAPE. In a Twitter post, Lacson expressed his wish for the original Eat Bulaga team to have a good future in their new home. Likewise, Lacson said that the original team did not lose TAPE Inc. but rather the other way around.
