"That has been my mindset not just for this year but for all the times I joined Miss Universe Philippines. No matter how it looks, it was never and it never got easier to prepare for each time I would compete. Each year was full of hard work, sacrifices and risks that I hope pay off at the end. Winning this year validates not just to me but to every Filipino that with hard work, perseverance and passion, you can achieve anything."

The actress and beauty queen, who stressed that she did not win the crown alone, also thanked everyone who helped her through the journey.

She expressed heartfelt gratitude to her team, family, friends, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization, and her supporters.

Michelle, who will represent the country in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador, likewise dedicated her win to all Filipinos.

"The next chapter of my pageant journey is no longer my own. It's for each Filipino that I will be representing in El Salvador. Knowing this doesn't just inspire me. It pushes me to work even harder and to dream bigger. It pushes me to do whatever it takes to bring home the Miss Universe crown to the Philippines."

Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She will represent the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.

Michelle was recently crowned as the Miss Universe PH 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. During the final question and answer, Michelle was asked about the Department of Tourism's new branding campaign "We give the world our best." The host asked Michelle what she believes is the best thing about the Philippines. According to Michelle, although the Philippines have great natural resources and tourist spots, the best thing about the country is the warmth and friendliness of the Filipino people.

She also had some emotional moments onstage with her mom, actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez. A heartwarming video of Melanie hugging her daughter onstage to congratulate her has gone viral. Epic photos of Michelle and Melanie posing together onstage after the coronation were also uploaded.
