Pokwang is among the most well-loved comediennes in the industry. Her frank and motherly ways are always "patok" among Filipinos. She used to be with ABS-CBN but moved to GMA during the pandemic. She has two daughters, Mae and Malia. Her split with Lee O'Brian has caused a buzz on social media.

Recently, the comedienne has revealed in the comments section of her post that she plans to change the surname of her daughter Malia. Earlier, a netizen praised the looks of Malia and suggested the comedienne should have her daughter carry her mother’s surname. Pokwang replied in the affirmative and confirmed that she was already making moves to change it. It can be recalled that the comedienne and partner Lee O’Brian, the father of Malia, parted ways last year for some unknown reason.
