Lorin Gutierrez Bektas, tinawag na best grandpa si Eddie Gutierrez: “I am forever blessed”

Lorin Gutierrez Bektas, the eldest daughter of Ruffa Gutierrez and ex-husband, Yilmaz Bektas, has posted a heartfelt birthday greeting for her grandfather, Eddie Gutierrez.

In a photo post she uploaded on Instagram, Lorin is seen hugging her grandfather who is all smiles as he reached out to her too.

The younger Gutierrez then wrote a caption within the photo, first greeting Eddie and then saying that her lolo is the “best grandpa.”

“Happy happy birthday lolo. You are the best grandpa a person could ever have,” Lorin wrote.

She also said she felt blessed that she became part of the family of the movie icon and Philippine cinema legend.

“I am forever blessed that God chose me to be part of your family,” the younger Gutierrez wrote.

Lorin also gave her grandpa due recognition as a legend of Philippine cinema, and then expressed her love for him.

“An icon then, an icon now. I love you,” Lorin said.

Eddie was born on January 6, 1942. He recently turned 81 years old.

Eddie is a Pinoy actor and former matinee idol. He was born in Ermita, Manila, to Antonio Atayde Gutierrez, Jr., and Mary Rufina Herranz Pickett. Eddie is the husband of Annabelle Rama, with whom he produced six offsprings, Ruffa, Rocky, Elvis, Richard, Raymond and Ritchie Paul.

In December of last year, Eddie's daughter, Ruffa, delighted her Instagram followers with a new picture she just posted. In the said photo, the lovely actress is seen with her parents, Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama. Her post has gone viral quickly with more than 6,000 likes on the said social media platform. Additionally, Ruffa proudly talked about Annabelle and Eddie's solid relationship.

Last year, many shed tears as Eddie wasn’t able to hold back his tears anymore as he gives his eulogy during the wake of his best friend and co-worker, Susan Roces. In a speech punctuated by sobs, a grieving Eddie recalled the good times he had with Susan whom he has worked with since November of 1958. The veteran actor then revealed that during the last birthday of Susan, the veteran actress told him over the phone to take care because she loves him and Eddie gave the same reply to her. Eddie and Susan became close friends during the early 60s and at this time, they frequently appeared together in various movies.
