Deniece Cornejo is bent on going ahead with the criminal case she filed against TV host and actor Vhong Navarro, according to the revelation of her lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio.

The famous trial lawyer recently sat down with some members of the media to talk about where the case is right now.

When asked by a member of the press about his client Deniece, he said that the model doesn’t want to be interviewed.

“She's okay. Yung last na nakausap ko siya, may worship service siya may Christian meditation sa out of town,” Atty. Topacio said.

“Ayaw na niyang magpa-interview but she's ready, willing, and able to testify in court pagka kinakailangan na,” he added.

Deniece Cornejo is a former actress and model. Her name was thrust into the limelight after she alleged that she was sėxually attacked by TV host and actor, Vhong Navarro. She filed a rapė case against the TV host. On the other hand, Vhong filed a case of serious illegal detention and grave coercion against Deniece and several of her friends. The rapė case filed by Deniece against Vhong resurfaced recently after the Court of Appeals granted the petition of the model and directed the Taguig Prosecutor’s office to file the case against the TV host.

Last week, the Taguig City prosecutors have filed a case against Vhong Navarro over the alleged attack against Deniece Cornejo. The DOJ has already junked Cornejo’s complaint against Navarro for her allegedly inconsistent statements in her affidavits. However, the Court of Appeals granted Cornejo’s petition regarding the dismissal of her complaint. The Court of Appeals stated that it is better for Navarro to defend himself at trial.

Recently, in an ABS-CBN News interview with Vhong Navarro, he once again affirmed that the allegations against him are not true. He said the only sin he ever committed was when he cheated on his girlfriend at the time who is now his wife. He added, he told his story and it is said to be the whole truth. Vhong also admitted that he is worried about the revival of the case filed against him by Deniece Cornejo related to the alleged sėxual attack he committed.
