Jose Mari Chan, a legendary crooner best known for his songs “Christmas in Our Hearts” and “Be Careful With My Heart,” became emotional and cried while rehearsing to sing live the iconic Christmas song.

The famous crooner was a guest at the GMA7 morning show, Unang Hirit, where he performed live the song “Christmas In Our Hearts.”

In the subsequent interview, the show’s host, Arnold Clavio, said that Jose Mari became emotional and cried while rehearsing the song before going on stage.

“Habang nagri-rehearse siya nagulat kami kasi naging emotional po si Tito Joe, talagang umiyak, nagulat din kami!” Arnold said during the interview.

The Unang Hirit host then asked the legendary crooner on why he cried.

“Because while I was singing the song, parang biglang na-feel ko yung original feeling ko when I composed that song,” Jose Mari said.
“And after 32 years, that song continues to be relevant to the young and old people alike. So nakaka-touch,” he added.

Arnold then jokingly asked for a tissue to be given to the legendary crooner to wipe his eyes with, to which Jose Mari laughed.

The crooner composed and released the song “Christmas in Our Hearts” way back in 1990.

Since that time, it has become the favorite of school Christmas plays, radio stations, and malls.

The song can be heard playing in the airwaves as early as September, which mark the start of the “BER” months.
