The daughter of FPJ worked with the veteran and multi-awarded actress in the TV series “Legacy.”

“I have had the honor of working with Ms. Cherie in Legacy, where I got to play her daughter. (Suspense alert: We all know it’s in every actors bucket list to work with her—and be slapped by THE Cherie Gil),” Lovi wrote in her post.

She then reminisced about the time where a scene in the said TV series required her to be slapped by Cherie.

After the scene, Lovi recalled thanking Cherie for not slapping her that hard, to which Cherie replied that it’s because she liked the daughter of Da King.

“In one scene, she had to slap me, and I remember saying ‘thank you for not slapping me hard.’ To which she responded in her signature sultry voice, ‘Cause I like you darling,’” Lovi said.

She then expressed her gratitude to the late actress for all the fond memories and at the same time, offered a tribute to Cherie, whom Lovi called an icon.

“Thank you for the fond memories, @macherieamour. You’re definitely an ICON who embodies grace, talent and class. You will be missed,” Lovi wrote.

Cherie died on August 5 due to cancer, a news that sent shockwaves in many corners of the Pinoy entertainment industry.

Lovi Poe, born Lourdes Virginia Moran Poe on born Feb. 11, 1989, is the child of Fernando Poe, Jr. and Rowena Moran. The award-winning artist received her first-ever Best Actress award at the 2010 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival for portraying the role of Lilibeth in the film “Mayohan.”

In May of this year, Lovi also took to Instagram and expressed her grief over Susan Roces' passing. The veteran actress died on May 20, which was confirmed by Senator Grace Poe. Furthermore, Lovi posted an old photo of Susan taken when she was younger - The Kapamilya actress wrote a short but heartfelt tribute to the late actress.

Last year, she was also among the celebrities who mourned over the death of Mahal. It can be recalled that Lovi and Mahal worked together in a 2021 Kapuso series titled “Owe My Love.” On her social media account, Lovi penned a heartfelt message to the late comedienne. The Kapuso actress posted it along with a charming photo of the two of them.
