True Faith frontman Medwin Marfil has revealed in a post that his band were offered by UniTeam to play in the political group’s campaign rallies.
Medwin said that their manager received a call while the group was in Borongan, Samar, asking them if the band would play for UniTeam.
He recalled that particular call was already the fourth, in terms of the offer for them to play in UniTeam sorties, which they all refused.
“When we were in Borongan, our manager got a call asking if we’d play for Unitik-tik. Pang 4 na ata na offer yun. We refused, of course,” Medwin wrote in a post.

Medwin also said that even if they already declared they were Kakampink, the term used to describe a supporter of VP Leni Robredo, they were still being offered slots at the UniTeam rallies.

“Kahit na nag-declare na kami na #KakamPink ang #Truefaith we’re still being offered to play sa for Baby M,” he further wrote.
The True Faith frontman then debunked the latest claim of actor Eric Nicolas who changed his earlier statement and said he’s performing at the UniTeam rallies for free.
Eric earlier claimed that what he’s doing at the UniTeam sorties is nothing but work, indicating that he’s getting paid for his services.
However, after his statement went viral, Eric deleted his original post and now claims that he’s performing for free.
Medwin refuted saying that his latest statement about artists performing for free at the UniTeam rallies in not true.
“Not believable. May bayad powh,” Medwin wrote in his post.
The True Faith frontman did not elaborate on how he came to the conclusion that performers at the UniTeam are being paid, though speculations indicate the band was offered a fee upfront during the alleged calls asking them to perform.
True Faith is a Filipino alternative band that was formed in 1991. Medwin Marfil is the founder and frontman of the band. They sent a demo tape to a radio station, highlighting their song, “Perfect” in 1993. This propelled them to popularity.
While True Faith, may have declined the offer to perform at the UniTeam rally, there were artists who chose to perform. Pinoy rapper Andrew E added more energy to the already electrified crowd inside the General Trias Sports Park where the UniTeam campaign rally is being held. Cavite Governor JonVic Remulla said crowd estimate inside the sports park reached 100K and those outside the complex were numbered around 40K.
Another artist was Rufa Mae Quinto, who added more color and fun to the recent UniTeam campaign rally in Zamboanga. The ‘Booba’ star, who used to wear pink in her portrayal of the superheroine role in Super B, turned red for this year’s election season. At the Summit Center of the Universidad de Zamboanga, Rufa Mae took center stage and entertained the crowd with her signature funny antics. She also trended on social media after appearing at the campaign rally of the UniTeam.
