Aiko Melendez used her social media account to express her full support for the tandem of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte.

According to Aiko, she will not resort to criticizing and bashing the other candidates.

Rather than focus on negativity, Aiko said that it is enough for her to express her support for the said politicians.

Aiko, who is running in the 2022 Election for councilor in Quezon City's 5th district, added that it is wrong to criticize people for accusations that have not been proven.

Many detractors of Bongbong have cited his tax evasion conviction in 1995 as their proof that he is supposedly not fit to be the next president of the Philippines.

“Ako po ay isang Artista at naniniwala at sumusuporta ,Sa susunod na Pangulo ng ating Republika ng Pilipinas. At ako din po ay naniniwala sa kakayahan ng kanyang Bise Presidente. Nuon pa man mayor pa Si Inday Sara ako ay isang tagahanga.

“At Sapat na dn sa akin na ang mga kandidato ko ay walang galit sa kanilang mga puso at yan ang gagawin kng inspiration sa aking muling pagsabak sa Public Service. Hindi naten kailangan ang magbatuhan ng putik sa ating mga kapwa. Naniniwala pa dn ako me karapatan tayong lahat mamuna pero hindi naten kailan man mamuna sa isang bagay na di pa naman napapatunayan,” Aiko posted on Instagram.

Aiko Melendez is a well-known showbiz personality. She received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2018 for her role in the film "Rainbow's Sunset." Aiko ran for and won a seat on the Quezon City Council in 2001. She served for 9 years, until 2010.

In a previous report by KAMI, Aiko took to social media to write a sweet message to Katrina Halili. Aiko referred to the Kapuso actress as a "fighter" in her viral post because of the ordeals she faced. She also praised Katrina for being an incredible mother to Katie. Katrina followed up with an equally heartfelt message for Aiko, whom she expressed her love for and stated she would miss immensely.

Aiko previously shared a meme about Filipinos "unfriending" each other over political disputes. She stated that fighting with her friends and loved ones over politicians is not worth it for her. The veteran actress believes that people with diverse political beliefs should be respected. Ultimately, she prayed to God for the country's healing and for love to prevail among its people.
