He then proceeded to explain what he meant by posting a photo on Facebook that included his earlier statement on Twitter.
Jake said that he is referring to supporters of various political candidates in the country today who are running in the coming May elections.
“My tweet refers to DDS (Diehard Duterte Supporters), Marcos loyalists, Dilawans, Kakampinks, etc. And yes, even Estrada loyalists,” Jake said, not sparing his family name.
Former Senators Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito, both half-brothers of Jake, are running for senators in this year’s elections.
The actor then reminded everyone to be loyal to the Philippines and to their own principles, not personalities.
“Be loyal to the country and your principles, not to politicians,” Jake said.
Earlier in a separate post, Jake expressed support for the candidacy of presidential candidate VP Leni Robredo.
Jake Ejercito is a Pinoy actor who appeared in several movies including Marry Me, Marry You, Mansyon, and Coming Home. He was born on March 27, 1990 to actress Laarni Enriquez and actor-turned-politician, former President Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada. He is the father of Ellie Eigenmann, his daughter with Andi Eigenmann.
Recently, Jake was the topic of veteran showbiz columnist Lolit Solis in her post. She said that Jake does not want to enter politics. Nay Lolit said that he might only be heading in the direction of showbiz. The veteran columnist also said that the position of Jake is very lucrative since he can choose either showbiz or politics. She also stated that in both fields, Jake would be in "good standing."
Previously, Jake posted a photo of him holding Ellie in what seemed to be a protective manner. In the photo he posted, the father and daughter tandem were all smiles as they face the camera. Jake also posted a caption that clearly shows his sentiments as regards the political atmosphere of the country today. In his caption, Jake wrote “Para Kay Ellie, para sa bansa.”
