In the said column published on Pilipino Star Ngayon, Nanay Cristy shared what Willie allegedly told her about his reaction after visiting the areas affected by the onslaught of typhoon Odette.
“Mahirap, gustung-gusto kong mag-abot sa matatanda at bata, alam n’yo naman na napakalapit nila sa puso ko, pero hindi ko magawa!” she quoted Willie.
“’Huwag daw, sabi ng mga nakapaligid sa akin na tagaroon, dahil kapag nag-umpisa akong namigay ng pera, siguradong magkakagulo. So, ang ginawa ko, ang mga mayors ang binigyan ko ng amount na maipangtutulong sa kanila,’ kuwento ni Willie.”

The entertainment columnist furthermore wrote, “Nu’ng pauwi na raw siya sa Manila ay para pa rin siyang tulala, ayaw maalis sa isip niya ang parang binombang kapaligirang nasaksihan niya, panay-panay ang dasal niya na sana’y makabangon agad ang mga kababayan natin sa Visayas at Mindanao.”
As per Business Mirror, President Rodrigo R, Duterte lauded Willie after the latter pledged to donate P1 million to each mayor in areas hit by typhoon Odette. Duterte recognized the TV host’s contribution during his visit to Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte.
Last week, Duterte has declared a state of calamity in 'Odette'-hit areas, particularly Mimaropa (Region 4-B), Western Visayas (Region 6), Central Visayas (Region 7), Eastern Visayas (Region 8), Northern Mindanao (Region 10), and Caraga (Region 13).
In a report by Philippine News Agency, he signed Proclamation No. 1267 upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Wilfredo Buendia Revillame, better known as Willie Revillame, is a Filipino television host, singer, songwriter, businessman, actor, and comedian. Revillame entered showbiz in 1987 as a member of Randy Santiago's Hawi Boys, along with Chinkee Tan, Dennis Padilla, and Jong Cuenco.
Cristy Fermin earlier aired her thoughts on Willie’s announcement that he will not be running in the 2022 polls. During her program, Cristy Ferminute, the entertainment columnist praised Willie’s humble way of publicizing the news.
Nay Cristy also revealed one of the properties that Willie is trying to build today is an awesome hotel. She said that the comedian and host is building a 7-star hotel in the middle of the sea. She even explained that it is literally on water, seemingly following the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
