Recently, news about the alleged illegitimate son of the “I Left My Heart In Sorsogon” actor surfaced online.

Manila Bulletin reported that the son allegedly made efforts to talk to the actor, but all of it were in vain.

The actor, who is running for congressman in one of the two districts in Cebu City, denied the rumors.

In a recent interview with Cebu Daily News, Richard said that he’s been in showbiz for almost 10 years but it is only now that the “alleged son” surfaced.

According to a Sunstar report, the actor indicated there might be people behind the alleged son and such rumors might have been concocted and floated by his political enemies.

“She went live and that’s what she said. So this has all been planned from the start,” the actor said of a former councilor now running as his opponent for congress.

As for his alleged son, Richard said he has never seen or met him

“I have never seen him, met him, talk to him ever since. Just wondering where he took me to be his father,” the Kapuso actor said.

According to a report by the Inquirer, the alleged illegitimate son has filed a petition in court called “compulsory recognition of natural child” or “acknowledgment of paternity and affiliation” against Richard.

Richard Yap is a Filipino-Chinese actor, best known for his roles on the teleseryes “My Binondo Girl” and “Be Careful With My Heart.” He is also the owner of Wangfu, which has several branches across the nation.

Richard is bent on trying his luck again in securing one of the two congressional seats in the city of Cebu. The actor, through his wife, has filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) Sunday, October 3, at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Cebu City. Richard also ran as Cebu City’s North District representative during the May 2019 elections, though he lost to his opponent, the late Rep. Raul Del Mar.

Previously, the actor revealed he spent nearly P500k on hospital bills when he was admitted for COVID-19 infection. The Kapuso actor also said that he experienced nightmares several times while sleeping in his hospital room. The actor is among the first Pinoy celebrities to get infected by the deadly disease. He said he is sharing his experience so people would also learn.
