Richard Yap recently revealed in his new vlog on YouTube what he went through as a COVID patient.

He said that his condition was so bad that he needed to be admitted to the hospital.

“I was coughing, I felt feverish. Ibang klaseng fever. It’s the kind your body is so hot na when you wake up pawis na pawis ka and hindi yung ordinary na konting pawis. Basa talaga pati yung kama mo basang basa,” Richard said.

On the day of his discharge, the Kapuso actor paid almost P500k in hospital expenses.

He also shared that during his stay at the hospital, he experienced nightmares several times.

“Binangungot ako ng five times that night. Every time I’d go to sleep, I’d wake up because of the nightmare and iba yung nightmare na parang papatayin ka,” he said.

Richard was among the first Pinoy celebrities to be infected with the deadly virus last year.

“I’m sharing this so that we can all learn something from my experience. This was a very difficult time in our lives but no one knew about it because we chose not to make it public at that time,” the actor said.

He added that no one knows what can happen in the future so it is best if everyone would choose to be kind to others.

“Sometimes you will never know what someone is going through so let’s always choose to be kind. Much love to everyone who helped me through this, specially my family, the doctors, nurses, medical staff at Makati Medical Center and to everyone who sent their well wishes and prayers,” Richard said.

Richard Edison Uy Yap, better known as Richard Yap or Sir Chief, is a Filipino actor, singer, model and businessman of Chinese descent. He was born on born May 18, 1967 and launched his career in ABS-CBN via My Binondo Girl where he played Kim Chiu's father, Chen Sy. He is best known for portraying Richard "Sir Chief" Lim in Be Careful with My Heart and "Papa Chen" in My Binondo Girl.

Last year, Richard moved over to GMA-7. The actor is signed a contract with GMA Artist Center, the talent agency of GMA Network. It was ABS-CBN who gave Richard the biggest break in his showbiz career when he starred in “My Binondo Girl.” His popularity rose when he starred as Sir Chief alongside Jodi Sta. Maria in “Be Careful With My Heart.”
