"I’ve known Alden since he first started in showbiz.

I have a handful of artista friends but Alden is quite special. Our relationship goes beyond that of a reporter artista (interviewee). He is also Amby's Ninong. Off-cam, I call him RJ, his nickname. I prefer calling him by his real name because, to me, that’s who he is beyond the celebrity everyone knows."

Aubrey shared that she was among the people in the industry whom Alden trusted and felt comfortable around. She said they could openly discuss life and work, including his retirement plans, while she respected his privacy.

"I’d like to think I’m one of the people in the industry he trusts and feels comfortable around. We can swear at each other, rant about life and work, and talk just about anything, pati retirement plans niya napag-usapan na namin. But I’ve never been one to pry into his private affairs. I let him share whatever he feels comfortable sharing."

The journalist also expressed how happy she was when Alden started gaining popularity and achieving success. According to her, his fame did not change the person she had known for years.

"When Alden started gaining popularity and achieving success, I was genuinely happy for him. I remember thinking that he deserved every bit of it because, beyond his talent and hard work, he is a genuinely a good person. Whenever people ask me what Alden is like, now that he’s become so famous, I always tell them, 'Hindi naman siya nagbago, yumaman lang!'"

Aubrey further recalled asking the actor about his charitable works and the people he had helped. She noted that he preferred keeping his good deeds private rather than making them public.

"Whenever I hear about his charitable works or the people he has helped, I sometimes ask him about it during interviews. But his response is almost always the same: 'Huwag na ’yun. Secret nga, eh!' He never wants to make a big deal out of it. He has helped so many people, and I know this firsthand. Some of the people he has helped are people I personally know."

She said she was dizzy and weak, and her blood pressure was high while waiting for him to arrive. Alden immediately called for medical assistance and scolded her for not going home. When she explained that she still needed to interview him, he responded:

"He has also seen me in my most vulnerable moments. I remember one time when I was waiting for him to arrive at an event. I wasn’t feeling well. I was dizzy, weak, and my blood pressure was high. The moment he found out, he immediately called for medical assistance and even scolded me for not going home. I told him I had to interview him. His response? 'Huwag ka nang kumilos diyan. Ako na ang bahala.'"

Aubrey revealed that Alden ended up answering the interview questions himself while a medic checked her blood pressure, ensuring she could get the necessary soundbites without continuing to work while unwell.

The reporter also recalled a moment at the 2024 GMA Gala when she jokingly asked Alden if the party and the band's performance could be extended because they were not ready for the celebration to end.

"At the 2024 GMA Gala, I half-jokingly asked him if he could extend the party and the band dahil bitin pa kami pero time is up na. Without hesitation, he said, 'Ipa-extend natin. Ako na magbabayad ng extension.'"

She explained that she was happy to see Alden enjoying himself, especially because he had been working hard and deserved time to relax.

"That night, I wasn’t just happy because the party was extended. I was happy to see him enjoying himself, too. He's been working so hard and he needed that time to unwind. He deserves to have fun and enjoy once in a while."

Aubrey further shared that she became emotional while interviewing Alden the previous night as he expressed gratitude to those who had publicly supported him and shared stories about his character.

"Last night, while I was interviewing him, I found myself tearing up as he expressed his gratitude to everyone who had rallied behind him—to all those who had posted messages defending him and sharing their stories about the kind of person he is. I guess that’s what happens when you spend years being kind to people without expecting anything in return. Sabi nga niya sa speech niya sa 'Hero For All' event, 'One day, that kindness finds its way back to you.'"

The journalist emphasized that Alden did not have to defend himself because the people whose lives he had touched chose to speak up based on their personal experiences with him.

"He didn’t even have to speak up or defend himself. The people whose lives he has touched, the people he has helped, and those who have personally experienced his kindness chose to speak for him.
Because genuine kindness leaves a mark. And when the time comes, the people who have felt it will remember.
Mahal kita, RJ, at marami kaming nagmamahal sa'yo."

In the comments section, Alden responded to Aubrey's heartfelt tribute with a crying-face emoji and a red heart emoji.
