Retired journalist Dindo Balares, a close friend of Kris Aquino, has spoken out after Josh Aquino, the Queen of All Media's eldest son, became the subject of jokes on a viral podcast.

On Wednesday, October 14, Dindo took to social media to share a photo of himself with Josh, who has special needs. Alongside the photo, he posted a lengthy statement criticizing those who made fun of Josh and questioning their treatment of people with disabilities.
Dindo began his message by challenging the idea of judging another person's worth based on how they treat vulnerable individuals. He also questioned whether making fun of someone with a disability makes a person superior to the individual being ridiculed.

Kung may nilalait at pinagkakatuwaan ba tayong kapwa na may disability, tayo ang kahanga-hanga at wala nang kuwenta ang taong ginagawa nating katatawanan?"
The retired journalist then revealed that several netizens had sent him links to the podcast, in which some men allegedly called Josh "walang kuwenta." He emphasized that these individuals did not know Josh personally and pointed out that many people care deeply about Kris' eldest son.
"Marami ang netizens na nagmamalasakit na nagpapadala sa akin ng link ng ilang kalalakihan na tinawag na walang kuwenta si Kuya Josh, ang panganay ni Kris Aquino.
Walang idea ang mga lalaking ito kung sino si Kuya Josh, pero hintayin nila kung sinu-sino pa ang mga nagmamalasakit at nagmamahal sa kanya."
Dindo also highlighted the people who willingly look after Josh whenever Kris travels abroad for medical treatment and her son chooses not to accompany her. He described Josh as a gentle and loving person who is well-loved by their friends and family.
"Ang mga tao at pamilyang ito ang hindi naisusulat o naiuulat na kusa o boluntaryong kumukupkop at nag-aalaga kay Kuya Josh tuwing nasa ibang bansa at nagpapagamot ang kanyang Mama Kris at ayaw niyang bumiyahe. Gentle giant at pinalaking magalang at mapagmahal si Kuya Josh, kaya paborito siya ng kanilang mga kaibigan at pamilya.
Maging kami ng pamilya ko, nakahanda ring mag-alaga sa kanya anumang oras o panahon."
The journalist further explained that Kris has been avoiding excessive stress as she focuses on improving her health. According to Dindo, the television host has chosen to let many issues pass because of her ongoing health concerns.
"Umiiwas pa sa sobrang stress si Kris, kaya marami siyang pinapalampas na mga isyu para sa pagbuti ng kanyang iniindang karamdaman."
Dindo then underscored how Kris can tolerate criticism directed at her but draws the line when it comes to her children. He compared a mother's instinct to protect her children to animals defending their young.
"Alam na ng lahat na matitiis niya ang kahit na anong lait sa kanya, pero huwag mo lang kakantiin ang kanyang mga anak.
Lahat ng ina sa kahit na anong species ng animal kingdom, kapag kapakanan na ng anak ang nakasalalay, makakakita ka ng pangil."
Toward the end of his post, Dindo expressed hope that Kris would allow her lawyers to handle the matter for the time being, considering her health and the stress surrounding the controversy.
"Pero bilang isa sa mga nagmamahal sa mag-iina, sana'y ipaubaya na lamang muna ito ni Kris sa kanyang mga abugado."
Kris Aquino is one of the most recognizable figures in Philippine media, having built a long career as a television host, actress, and producer while belonging to a prominent political family. She is the youngest child of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon Aquino, and the sister of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. Known for her candid personality and strong on-screen presence, she earned the nickname “Queen of All Media” after leading numerous talk shows, game shows, and films. Her filmography includes box-office horror hits Feng Shui and Sukob.
In another report, fashion designer Michael Leyva expressed his disapproval on Instagram over the podcast hosts’ remarks about Josh. He emphasized that ridiculing Josh and his condition was wrong and should not be taken lightly. Michael highlighted Josh’s kindhearted nature and intelligence, saying he deserves to be treated with love and respect. He also pointed out that removing the controversial episode from YouTube would not undo what had already circulated on social media.
Meanwhile, Mama Loi also came to Josh’s defense following the viral podcast. She commended his character and the values Kris Aquino had taught him, including his faith in God, kindness, respect for others, and commitment to caring for his mother. Mama Loi further stressed Josh’s worth as a person and spoke out against the criticism directed at him.
