Barbie Forteza has taken back her previous “date to marry” statement, saying she is no longer open to getting married anytime soon, even if she falls in love.

During her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, August 28, Barbie, who confirmed that she is still single, revisited the statement she made during a previous press conference. Boy Abunda reminded her that she had previously said she was already at the stage where she wanted to “date to marry.”

Barbie explained that her earlier statement came before she was “schooled” by respected people regarding marriage, which led her to reconsider her perspective. She admitted that she has since changed her mind about her approach to dating and marriage.

“Actually, yes. I said that in an interview before having been schooled by a lot of our very respectable people out there with regards to marriage. And now, maybe I would like to take that back because I don’t—I mean, I’m not open to marrying anytime soon, even if I fall in love. So baka 'date when I’m sure' na lang. Pero hindi na parang to marry pa.”

With her updated outlook, Barbie clarified that she would rather focus on being certain about a relationship before thinking about marriage.
