Buboy Villar opened up about his past conflict with former partner Angillyn Gorens and how they eventually found their way toward forgiveness and a healthier co-parenting relationship.

The actor discussed the experience during his appearance on GMA’s Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, where he shared how prayer played an important role in helping him deal with the difficult situation.
According to Buboy, he eventually reached a point where he decided to surrender everything to God rather than continue dwelling on the conflict.
“Alam n’yo po, after po nung nangyari po na ’yun, ipinagdasal ko na lang po talaga lahat. Sinurrender ko na po kay Lord lahat ng mga bagay-bagay,” Buboy said.

He recalled that he continued praying about the situation and asking for a resolution. At one point, an unexpected moment involving his child eventually opened the door for him and Angillyn to speak again.
“And kakadasal ko, kakakulit ko po, Tito Boy, mayroong isang araw nasa taping po ako, kausap ko ’yung anak ko si Vlanz, and then biglang out of nowhere, kinuha n’ya lang ’yung phone at gusto n’ya ko makausap, at nag-usap kami at nagkapatawaran kaming dalawa,” he recalled.
The unexpected reconciliation was especially meaningful to Buboy, who described his reaction as a realization that his prayers had finally been answered.
“At sabi ko, ’Lord, oh my G! This is it!’” he said.
Buboy explained that the reconciliation involved both sides acknowledging their mistakes. Angillyn apologized to him, while he also took responsibility for his own shortcomings in their past relationship.
“Nanghingi s’ya ng sorry sa akin. Nanghingi ako ng sorry sa kanya sa lahat ng na pagkukulang ko, sa lahat,” Buboy shared.
The actor said their conversation ultimately allowed them to move forward and restore a better relationship.
“Naging okay kami,” he added.
For Buboy, however, the reconciliation was not simply about putting their personal conflict behind them. He said the improved relationship also had a positive effect on their responsibilities as parents.
“At ngayon, naging mas maganda ang relasyon namin sa anak namin. Mas naging maganda ang co-parenting namin ng dalawa,” he said.
While he did not go into extensive detail about the original conflict during the interview, he made clear that both of them eventually recognized their respective shortcomings and chose forgiveness.
Buboy Villar is a Filipino actor and devoted father who became widely known through projects including Kid Kulafu and Ang Panday. He later expanded his career into hosting and became one of the hosts of the podcast Your Honor. Buboy has two children with a former partner and is now building a family with his girlfriend, Isay Sampiano.
