The actress opened up about how her birthdays have changed as she entered a different season of her life, particularly after becoming a mother to her daughter, Deia.
In a social media post, Calzado shared that her birthday began with an important milestone for her daughter.

It was Deia’s first day of school, followed by watching her dance class, which was really all I wished for that day. To see her happy, to be with Ben and our family, and to end the day around the table with good food and people I love dearly. Full of the things that matter most to me. My kind of birthday in this season of my life.”
For Calzado, being able to watch Deia enjoy her first day of school and attend her dance class became more meaningful than having an elaborate birthday celebration.
She also revealed that she spent part of the week making changes around their home. After putting off the task for more than a year, she finally began rearranging things, letting go of belongings they no longer needed and making room for something new.
However, Calzado also emphasized that some things are worth holding on to. One example was a red dress that her husband, Ben Wintle, gave her 10 years ago.

She chose to wear the same dress again for her birthday, appreciating how the piece had remained meaningful through the years.
“I even spent part of the week rearranging our home, finally moving things around that I’d been meaning to for over a year, letting go of what we no longer needed and making space for something new. And yet, there are some things worth holding on to, like the beautiful red dress Ben gave me 10 years ago that I chose to wear again on my birthday. I love that it has stood the test of time and gets to be part of this chapter of my life too.”
The actress then reflected on the deeper meaning of celebrating another birthday.
“Birthdays feel different now. Of course, there is still a part of the day that is mine, but it’s no longer just about me. Deia, life, and all the different seasons I’ve gone through have changed that in the most beautiful way.”
Calzado said her experiences over the years have transformed the way she looks at life. Instead of focusing solely on herself when celebrating her birthday, she now finds herself appreciating the people and circumstances that have helped shape who she has become.

The actress also expressed her gratitude to the people who helped make her birthday memorable, including her family and the “angels” at home.
“So grateful to our angels at home and our family for making the day extra special, and to everyone who sent their love, flowers, food and thoughtful gifts. I felt all the love.”
