Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi opened up about the challenges she has faced throughout her pregnancy, including the insecurities brought by the changes in her body.

During her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, August 19, Celeste talked about her pregnancy journey. It is worth noting that the beauty queen is currently expecting her first child with British tech entrepreneur Jonathan Sterling.

Celeste admitted that adjusting to the physical changes that came with pregnancy has not been easy. She explained that while she and her partner wanted to have a baby, experiencing pregnancy firsthand came with changes she did not fully anticipate.

“It was just a lot, I wouldn't say it is unexpected. We wanted to have a baby, but once you [experience] pregnancy, you're kinda shocked. So, I feel we like kinda entered this chapter wanting to be good parents, you know, take care of the baby. And it came with a lot of changes as well, because again, as I said earlier, there's a lot of hormone changes.”

Beyond the physical changes, Celeste also shared that she developed insecurities during her pregnancy. She said seeing her body change affected her confidence, prompting her to seek support from the people around her.

“And I also came up with so many insecurities as well… Everything came out! So, even you know seeing my body changing, it hasn't been easy. So definitely I was looking for a lot of support and luckily Johnny also supported me in making me feel like I'm still like beautiful.”

Celeste Cortesi was born on December 15, 1997, to a Filipino mother and an Italian father. She first gained recognition in the Philippine pageant scene when she joined Miss Earth Philippines 2018. Her prominence grew even more after she won the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 title. Having spent much of her early life in Italy, Celeste eventually moved to the Philippines to pursue her dreams in pageantry and establish her career.

In April, Celeste announced that she was expecting her first child in a heartfelt social media post featuring her growing baby bump and ultrasound images. She reflected on unconditional love and new beginnings as she embraced this new chapter, with fellow beauty queens and celebrities sending their congratulations and well wishes.

Celeste also addressed breakup rumors involving her and British businessman Jonathan Sterling during her appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” She acknowledged that they have gone through periods of being apart while emphasizing the importance of honesty, open communication, and working through challenges together as a family.
