Wilbert Ross recalled experiencing what he described as power-tripping from a co-worker who allegedly disliked him during his earlier showbiz years.

During his interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, August 11, host Boy Abunda brought up a difficult period in Wilbert’s career, recalling their conversations at a time when the latter was unsure about where his career was headed.

Wilbert revealed that someone from one of his previous show did not like him, eventually explaining the reason to him and apologizing. Wilbert said he had already forgiven the person and considered the matter settled.

When Boy asked what happened during the period when the co-worker allegedly disliked him, Wilbert recounted how he felt his opportunities were being blocked. He said he would sometimes be moved from the front to the back while dancing on “It’s Showtime,” while some of his segments were allegedly removed.

Wilbert also claimed that he was removed from other shows under ABS-CBN and replaced by another member. He further said that despite being a singer, he was allegedly prevented from promoting his music on “It’s Showtime.”

Wilbert explained how he dealt with the situation by being extra careful with his work, making sure he was not late or made mistakes that could potentially give anyone a reason to remove him.

“Ano lang po eh, like ginagalingan ko lang po at I was very careful na hindi ako ma-late, hindi ako magkamali, kasi para hindi po magkaroon ng rason na tanggalin ako. Parang ganoon po,” he said.

Boy then pointed out how Wilbert had to hold on and persevere during that difficult period. Wilbert agreed, saying that he was indeed determined to hold on.

Boy also recalled how fearful Wilbert was at the time, to which Wilbert responded by remembering how he would often cry while seeking advice from the veteran broadcaster.

Wilbert shared that he would tell Boy about what he was going through, while Boy would encourage him to continue doing his best.

He recalled,“Umiyak ako lagi kay Tito Boy. 'Tito Boy, ang sama, ginaganto ako, ganto-ganyanan.' At si Tito Boy naman, parang, 'Just do your thing.'”

Boy then reminded Wilbert to keep fighting and pointed out that he had a reason for being there.

“Lumaban ka. Pumasok ka dito eh, 'di ba? At may dahilan kung bakit ka nandito,” Boy recalled.

In the same interview, Wilbert Ross addressed questions about his relationship with Bea Binene, explaining that she is currently his partner in many aspects of his life, including their shared business. He also revealed that they have a series and an upcoming movie, while continuing to support each other in their respective endeavors. Wilbert added that they often spend time together because they also manage their business responsibilities.
