Janella’s connection to theater began long before she decided to pursue the stage herself. Her mother, actress-singer Jenine Desiderio, had a notable theater career and was part of the original West End production of “Miss Saigon,” where she played Yvette and later took on the role of Kim.

Growing up around her mother’s stage work gave Janella the opportunity to become familiar with theater from a young age. That early exposure eventually became one of the reasons she wanted to experience performing onstage for herself.

“I was exposed to my mother doing theater so I really have been waiting for this.”

Although Janella has already established herself as an actress in television and film, her theater debut represents a different milestone in her career. She is now preparing to take on the demands of live performance as she brings Lou to the stage.
