Star Magic has released an official statement on behalf of Kim Chiu to clarify the context surrounding a resurfaced 2023 recording in which the actress spoke about her sister, Lakambini Chiu.

The clarification comes after the old interview began circulating again online amid the now-public conflict between Kim and her sister.
In its statement, Star Magic explained that while Kim’s remarks in the 2023 interview were accurate at the time they were made, they no longer reflect the current circumstances.
“Star Magic, on behalf of Ms. Kim Chiu, wishes to issue the following statement for the guidance of the public.”

The agency noted that the interview was recorded in 2023 and is once again being viewed by the public.
“In 2023, an interview of Kim regarding her sister was recorded and currently being viewed by the public. While the statements made by Kim at the time were true and reflected the circumstances then, they no longer represent the present situation.”
According to Star Magic, significant developments occurred after that interview was recorded.
The statement disclosed that Kim later became aware of material information in 2025, which prompted her to seek legal remedies.
“Since then, Kim has discovered material information that came to light in 2025, which prompted her to take legal action.”
The agency further revealed that a criminal complaint filed by Kim against Ms. Lakambini Chiu is currently pending before the appropriate authorities.
“As a result, a criminal complaint filed by Kim against Ms. Lakambini Chiu is currently pending before the proper authorities.”

Star Magic emphasized that Kim remains committed to allowing the legal process to determine the facts surrounding the matter.
“Kim remains firm in her decision to pursue the case through the proper legal process in order to establish the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and seek justice.”
The talent agency explained that its statement was intended solely to clarify the timeline of events so that previously recorded statements would not be misunderstood or taken out of context.
“This statement is issued solely to clarify the timeline of events and to avoid any misunderstanding arising from previously recorded statements.”
Because the matter is now undergoing legal proceedings, Star Magic also appealed to the public to respect Kim’s privacy while the case is being resolved through the proper channels.

The statement concluded with a message of gratitude to those who continue to support the actress.

As the case remains pending before the proper authorities, no findings have yet been made by the court or other competent bodies regarding the allegations.
For now, Star Magic has urged the public to avoid drawing conclusions based on older interviews and instead allow the legal process to proceed while respecting Kim Chiu’s privacy.
