The three discussed the topic during Wilma and Kazel's guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, July 22.

The issue arose after Vice Ganda and Kim exchanged remarks on social media on Tuesday, following Vice's acceptance speech at the inaugural FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards. The comedian drew criticism from some fans after thanking the hosts of “It's Showtime” without mentioning Kim, prompting online discussions that eventually led to the exchange between the two stars.

During the interview, Kazel said it is not unusual for award recipients to unintentionally leave out names while giving speeches because emotions often take over in the moment.

"Usually may mga ganoon talagang instances wherein may makakalimutan ka talagang mag-thank you."

Wilma agreed, explaining that excitement and overwhelming emotions can sometimes cause people to experience a mental block while speaking on stage.

"Yes. Ma-mention. Meron kasi, una, dala ng kasayahan mo, excitement mo, minsan naba-blockout ka talaga, 'di ba? So nangyayari talaga 'yun."

Boy then shared his perspective, saying that receiving awards is a nerve-racking experience regardless of how experienced a person may be. He also expressed confidence that Vice did not intentionally leave Kim out of the speech, noting that the two have always had a good relationship.

"Ako here's my take. Nerves. Nakaka-nerbyos po. You don't get used to getting awards. Sigurado po ako na hindi sinadya ni Vice Ganda na makalimutan si Kim Chiu. Alam naman natin ho lahat na maganda ang kanilang relasyon."

Wilma also said she believes Kim would not take the omission personally, citing what she knows about the actress.

"Oo naman. Tsaka for sure, knowing Kim, hindi niya rin mamasamain 'yon."

Boy further discussed how the issue grew into a public debate, acknowledging both Vice's appeal not to further amplify the situation and Kim's decision to stand by fans who felt hurt. At the same time, he stressed that intention should be considered before judging what happened.

"Very difficult kasi ang debateng ito ay sinasabi ni Vice nga na huwag na naman palakihin pa ito. I mean, he may, he may have used words like 'toxic' for example. And then Kim also came to the defense of the fans. Naiintindihan ko rin 'yon at fan ako, fan ka rin, we're all fans, 'no? Masasaktan ka rin pero intention is very important. Nakaka-nerbyos ho when you're on stage tapos nagpapasalamat ka sa mga tao ah na dapat pasalamatan. Meron at meron kang kakaligtaan. It happens even in the Academy Awards. Minsan nakakalimutan 'yung mga magulang. Minsan nakakalimutan i-acknowledge 'yung maybahay or 'yung husband. It happens. I think we have to be, we have to be more understanding 'di ba?"

Wrapping up the discussion, Wilma said that compassion appears to be missing from many online conversations today, observing that people have become quick to react with anger.

"Compassionate siguro? I think 'yun ang nawala sa mga Pilipino ngayon, na parang lahat ng mga tao paggising pa lang, mainit na 'yung ulo."

Vice Ganda is an iconic Filipino comedian, host, and actor best known as the "Unkabogable Phenomenal Superstar." She is a major pop culture figure, celebrated for starring in record-breaking box-office films and advancing LGBTQ+ visibility.

Previously, Vice called some KimPau fans "toxic" and described their actions as "kacheapan" after they criticized him for not mentioning Kim during his awards speech. Kim defended her fans saying they are simply being protective because of their love for her. Vice quickly responded, reminding his supporters that love is never an excuse for being hurtful toward others.
