She then explained that the timing of one of the sessions gave her the opportunity to center the class around an especially meaningful topic.
“Last July 7 and 8, I held two sunrise yoga and meditation classes at @thelindboracay for some of their guests. It just so happened that July 7 was Global Forgiveness Day so I created a class focusing on the importance of self-forgiveness 🙏🏼”
According to Maxene, the theme was inspired by lessons she has learned throughout her own healing journey.
The actress candidly admitted that there was a time in her life when forgiving those who had hurt her felt nearly impossible because she had not yet learned to forgive herself.
“I realized that I used to have a difficult time forgiving the people who hurt me in the past because I hadn’t done the work to forgive myself first ☹️ How could I give something to others that I didn’t even know how to give to myself first?”
Her honest reflection struck a chord with many followers, who praised her openness in discussing emotional healing and self-awareness.
Maxene went on to describe the inner work she undertook in order to move forward from painful experiences and become more compassionate toward herself.
“So I did the deep inner work to forgive myself for my past mistakes, poor choices and embarrassing failures. I did the work to release the low vibrational energies of shame and guilt that were keeping me stagnant. I lovingly forgave myself for everything that my younger self needed to do to survive 🙏🏼”
Her message highlighted the importance of acknowledging one’s past without allowing it to define the future.
Over the past several years, Maxene has become increasingly vocal about mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and emotional wellness. Through workshops, retreats, and social media posts, she has consistently encouraged people to prioritize not only their physical health but also their emotional and spiritual well-being.
By sharing her own journey, Maxene hopes to inspire others to embrace self-compassion and recognize that mistakes and setbacks do not diminish a person’s worth.
