During his appearance on “Oh My Gan!,” Iñigo talked about entering the entertainment industry while carrying the name of one of the country’s most recognized stars. He admitted that he was aware from the beginning that comparisons with his father would be unavoidable.

“I knew that it was inevitable. I always had this idea that I’m honestly here because of my dad. I wouldn’t have this kind of access to what I have now in the industry.”

Rather than viewing his father’s influence as a burden, Iñigo explained that he chose to see it as an opportunity and a source of inspiration. He shared that having Piolo as his father motivated him to work harder and create a path that would allow him to be recognized for his own talents.

“Mas inisip ko siya as a blessing rather than something to make me feel bad about. Sobrang proud ako to be his son.”

Iñigo added that being associated with Piolo also became a challenge that pushed him to continue improving and prove himself in the industry.

“If anything, I see it more as a challenge for me to push myself to be better.”

The singer-actor also recalled the pressure he experienced when he first started his showbiz journey. Without extensive formal training before entering the industry, Iñigo knew that he would be closely watched and compared with his father.

“I came into the industry with no proper training. Right away, sinalang nila ako, and I knew instantly I was going to be compared to my dad and judged.”

Over time, Iñigo gained more confidence as he developed his own identity as an artist. He cited the success of his self-written song “Dahil Sa ’Yo” as a turning point that helped him feel more secure in being recognized for his own achievements.

“After ‘Dahil Sa ’Yo,’ I was able to really say that I feel more confident being Iñigo, not just being Piolo’s son.”

Through his journey, Iñigo continues to acknowledge the impact of his father’s legacy while building his own career as a singer and actor. He emphasized that being Piolo’s son is something he values, but he also remains focused on establishing himself as an individual artist.

Recently, Iñigo sustained another knee injury after jumping off the stage during a recent mall show. Despite getting hurt, the actor-singer remained professional and continued his performance until he completed his set. A social media user commended Iñigo for pushing through with the show despite the accident. He later gave updates online as he underwent treatment for the injury.
