During the interview, Chariz said some people assumed she deliberately let go of the flowers because of how the moment looked on camera.

"Kasi akala nila 'yung bulaklak purposely binitawan ko. Kasi daw tsararat."

"Ako naman, wala akong pakialam. Binigyan ako ng bulaklak. Masaya ako doon. I appreciate that, and for inviting me and giving me an achievement, a recognition. Masaya ako doon."

Chariz went on to explain that the bouquet had a long foam base where the flowers were arranged. According to her, it simply slipped from where it had been placed because of the fabric of her gown and the tight corset she was wearing.

"May velvet 'yung gown ko dito. Nilagay sa akin dito (arms). Dumulas! So dahil sobrang sikip ng corset ko. Hindi (I couldn't bend down). So hinayaan ko na lang. So dinampot ulit ng isang bosing."

She also addressed the moment when her crown fell, saying she had already noticed that it was loose before the incident happened. Chariz recalled that no one adjusted it before she went on stage, prompting her to fix it herself.

"Noong ako na, walang nag-adjust. Sinong mag-a-adjust? 'Di ba? Iniwan nila ako sa kanal. So in-adjust ko mag-isa ko."

According to Chariz, Mrs. Universe Philippines President and National Director Charo Calalo later noticed the crown and helped adjust it. However, after she was instructed to move forward, the crown slipped off.

“Noong ginanu’n niya (adjust), nag-iba‘yung anggulo.‘Sige lakad ka,’mag-forward daw. Pag-forward ko, nalaglag din.”

She added that the crown slid off her head and landed near her nose. Despite the mishap, Chariz pointed out that the crown was not lightweight, contrary to what some people may have assumed.

“Ang bigat niya. Sabi niya plastic‘yung corona wig. Mabigat siya. Maganda siya. It's a custom crown.”

The discussion also turned lighthearted when guest Donita Nose joked that a crown falling off a woman's head could mean she has a small face.

“Mga artista kasi talaga‘pag magaganda, maliit‘yung mukha talaga.”

Playing along with the joke, Chariz humorously compared herself to fellow actress Nathalie Hart, whose crown did not fall during the event.

“So mas maganda ako kay Nathalie Hart? Kasi hindi nalaglag ‘yung kaniya.”

Chariz's explanation shed light on the moments that quickly circulated online following the Mrs. Universe Philippines 2026 event. By sharing what happened, she clarified that both the dropped bouquet and the fallen crown were simply accidental.
