During her guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, July 10, Kyline shared how the incident happened, saying she initially believed the message was a legitimate notification from her bank.
She explained that she received both an email and a text message claiming there was an issue with her bank account. Believing it was an official notice, she clicked the link provided in the message before realizing it redirected her to a different website.
"Meron pong email and text message na may link po. Ang nakalagay po do'n sa text message is parang may problema daw po sa aking banko, so click this link para maayos. So, I clicked it, and then parang nagpunta po sa ibang website, so inalis ko na lang po siya agad. And then when I checked the bank app, biglang parang nabawasan 'yung pera ko, 'yun na po pala 'yon."

After hearing Kyline's story, host Boy Abunda asked whether the amount taken from her account reached the hundreds of thousands of pesos.
"Malaki ang nawala? In the hundreds of thousands?" Boy inquired.
Kyline clarified that while the amount was below that figure, it was still a significant financial loss for her. She also lightened the mood by sharing that the missing money had been intended for one of her regular household expenses.
"Under naman po pero malaki pa rin po 'yon. Jusko! Pangkuryente ko po 'yon eh!" she aired.
Although Kyline did not disclose the exact amount that was taken from her account, her experience serves as another reminder for the public to be cautious when receiving unsolicited emails and text messages containing links that claim to be from banks or other financial institutions. Phishing scams often use fake messages designed to trick recipients into revealing sensitive information or accessing fraudulent websites.
