Rico Blanco became emotional after receiving his first-ever acting award at the 9th Eddy Awards (The Eddys), held on Sunday, July 5, in Pasay City, where he was recognized as Best Supporting Actor for his performance in "Manila's Finest."

The veteran musician and former Rivermaya frontman shared the honor with Will Ashley, who also won in the same category for "Bar Boys: After School." The recognition marked a new milestone in Rico's career as he continues to explore acting.
During his acceptance speech, Rico reflected on what the award meant to him, admitting that he never expected to receive such recognition so early in his journey as an actor.
Before expressing his gratitude, Rico shared that even being nominated had already felt like a victory because he still considers himself new to the film industry.
