Actor Eric Fructuoso addressed speculation about his closeness with actress Kim Rodriguez during his guest appearance on "Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs," where host Susan Enriquez asked him to clarify the real status of their relationship after many noticed they are often seen together on social media.

Eric explained that Kim is simply one of his closest friends, adding that they live near each other, which naturally allows them to meet up often.
“Sasabihin ko 'yung si Kim, ang buddy-buddy ko talaga. Because magkalapit lang bahay namin. Somewhere within the area rin.”
Susan then directly asked whether the two were a couple.

“Hindi,” the actor responded.
Eric elaborated that he has never viewed Kim in a romantic way. Instead, he said she reminds him of his own child because of their similar personalities and playful nature.
“Actually, ang totoo niyan, masakit man sabihin, parang feeling ko minsan,‘pag kasama ko siya, parang kasama ko 'yung anak ko. Pareho silang kilos, pareho silang makulit.”
The actor also addressed why they are constantly spotted together in social media posts. According to him, both of them are focused on living healthier lifestyles, giving them another reason to spend time together.
“Ang linya ko kasi, papuntang healthy lifestyle. Siya, ganu’n din.”
Eric further shared that aside from previously working together on a television series, they are also under the same talent manager, Ogie Diaz. He revealed that he, Kim, and actor Mark Manicad make up a close circle of friends.
He explained that Mark's home is much farther away and that he rarely goes out, which is why he and Kim are usually the ones seen hanging out.
“Isa pang close namin si Mark Manicad. Kaming tatlo talaga 'yung magba-buddies. Nataon lang, mas malayo lang 'yung bahay ni Mark at mas tamad siya lumabas.”
Eric stressed that this is the main reason behind the public's perception that he and Kim are always together.
“So‘yun lang 'yung difference. Kaya kami ni Kim ang madalas magkasama.”
Eric's remarks offered fans a clearer picture of his bond with Kim, stressing that their closeness stems from friendship and shared activities rather than romance.
