The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of comedian and gay impersonator Michelle O’Bombshell, known for impersonating former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama and in real life as Roderic Cuntapay, who passed away on Monday, April 6.

The news was confirmed by several close friends and colleagues in the industry, including fellow comedian Tuesday Vargas.

On Monday, April 6, Tuesday shared an emotional tribute on Facebook, referring to Michelle by her personal nickname, Ador, and recalling their deep friendship and professional relationship.

In the first part of her post, Tuesday expressed her shock and grief upon hearing the news:

“Para sa iba ikaw si Michelle Pero para sa akin ikaw ang nag iisang Ador ng buhay ko. Nung isang araw lang ay naalala kita tapos nagising ako ngayon sa balitang ito. You will be missed Ador. Salamat sa lahat ng mga naituro mo sa akin lalo na sa pag susulat at pag perform.”

Tuesday then went on to reveal that Michelle played a major role in her early career, serving as her mentor and director when she was still very young in the industry:

“Marami ang hindi nakaka alam pero 16 lang ako nung naging myembro ako ng UP Samaskom at si Ador ang unang nag tiwala sa akin. Siya ang una kong mentor at direktor. Hanggang ngayon ndi ko matanggap pa pero alam kong nasa piling ka na ng Dyos.”

In the final part of her message, Tuesday thanked Michelle for her lasting impact on her life and acknowledged the struggles they both faced, while honoring Michelle’s dedication to making people laugh despite hardships:

Along with Michelle, the country has lost other local personalities this year.

In a report last February, veteran actress and acting coach Vangie Labalan, known in real life as Maria Cristina Labalan, passed away at the age of 83. Her son, Van-van Aligam, confirmed the sad news on February 12 through a Facebook post. Vangie was last seen in the Kapamilya series Batang Quiapo and was also remembered for her iconic performance in the classic film Himala. Colleagues from the industry, including FDCP Chair Jose Javier Reyes and actor Roderick Paulate, expressed their condolences.

Inday Barretto has passed away last January, confirmed by her son, Joaquin Barretto, in a heartfelt Facebook post. He shared a brief but emotional message accompanied by a photo of a lit candle to announce the sad news. Prior to this, Joaquin had posted updates about his mother’s critical condition while she was hospitalized. Inday’s last public appearance was on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube show, where she candidly spoke about her life and family.
