The social media world is currently witnessing a heated exchange between comedienne Kitkat and her brother-in-law, Chef Jeremy Favia. What started as a vague post about a gift has spiraled into a full-blown public feud, with netizens jumping in to give the actress a piece of their minds.

The issue began when Kitkat posted a Facebook story complaining about a "pasalubong" (souvenir) from China, claiming the items were already expired. Although she didn't mention a specific name, her brother-in-law, Jeremy Favia—the brother of her husband Walby Favia—immediately stepped in to defend their mother.
Jeremy clarified that the dates Kitkat saw were actually manufacturing dates, which is the standard labeling practice for many products in China. He expressed disappointment that his mother was being portrayed in a negative light over a misunderstanding.
However, Kitkat was not about to back down. On February 5, after posting a video of a new pair of shoes, she was swarmed by commenters calling her "laos" (has-been) and "squammy." One netizen mocked her for the manufacturing date mistake, but Kitkat fired back, “ay edi sumikat pala kasi may term na laos? Hahahahah edi thank u. Hahahah sino ba gumagawa ng ingay? Di ako nagpangalan sino ang kumuda? Sino gusto sumikat at gamitin ang laos na to? Hahahahah galing!”

She stood by her decision not to apologize to her mother-in-law (MIL), claiming that her MIL has also been disrespectful to her for years. “ha??? E ung nanay walang sorry sa akin???? Di nyo alam punot dulo neto kayo ngak ngak ng ngak wala naman kaalam alam?! Di ako nagpangalan, masyado lang guilty…. Nanay ako nagpanic ako para sa anak ko,” she insisted.
Kitkat, whose real name is Soraya Ray L. Bañas, has been in the Philippine entertainment industry for over two decades. Known for her comedic timing and singing voice, she has been a regular face in various TV shows and films. Despite the "laos" tag from bashers, she pointed out that her 23-year career has allowed her to provide a comfortable life for her family. She also claimed that her husband, Walby, is on her side and has distanced himself from his own family due to the ongoing tension.
As the word war continues, Kitkat remains firm: if her in-laws felt hit by a post that didn't even mention their names, then it was their choice to "bark" and make the issue public.
This family dispute comes at a sensitive time for the comedienne, who has dealt with personal losses and public clarifications in recent months.
Late last year, Kitkat shared a heartbreaking update with her followers regarding the passing of her father. She posted a touching tribute, telling him to rest well and expressing her deep love for the man she considered her hero. Fans and fellow celebrities offered their condolences during that difficult time, which stands in stark contrast to the aggressive tone of her current social media battles.
Adding another layer to the current drama, Chef Jeremy Favia had previously broken his silence to explain why he felt the need to speak up against Kitkat’s rants. He explained that while he usually keeps quiet, he could not stay silent when his mother's intentions were being questioned publicly. This earlier statement set the stage for the current flood of negative comments that Kitkat is now addressing on her own page.
