In a recent episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, the actress revealed that she was diagnosed with avascular necrosis, also known as bone death, after suffering from hip pain while she was pregnant. She shared that at first, doctors brushed off her condition.

“Sinabi lang nung doctor ay, ‘You’re getting heavy kaya may mga back pain kang nararamdaman.’”

However, Angelica said she was not convinced because the pain felt different.

“Tapos parang hindi rin ako convinced kasi parang hindi siya back pain eh, parang sa singit na hindi ko naiintindihan talaga,” she explained.

Because of this, she continued to seek medical help, but it took a long time before she finally learned what was really happening to her body.

Angelica revealed that it took more than a year before she was properly diagnosed.

“More than a year bago ako na-diagnose. So ang dami kong inikutang doctor, na-misdiagnose, ang daming mga ginawa,” she shared.

When doctors finally discovered the cause, they explained that the bones in her hip had started to die due to poor blood circulation.

She explained the condition further by saying, “So namatay ‘yung hip bones ko kasi hindi nagci-circulate properly ‘yung dugo ko. Naipit ‘yung mga veins dito sa may balakang,” adding that weight gain was a major factor.

To treat the condition, Angelica underwent hip replacement surgery. She has since recovered and is now back to work, continuing her acting career with renewed strength and gratitude.
