Ogie Alcasid is grieving the death of singer-songwriter Davey Langit, who passed away recently, leaving the local music industry in shock. In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Ogie expressed deep sadness over the loss of Davey, his godson.
Ogie expressed his grief in a poignant post, sharing a video of Davey looking delighted as he received a surprise gift from him — an Oklahoma City Thunder jersey.
In the caption, Ogie said he still struggles to accept Davey’s passing. He wrote: “Davey… hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala. Ito yung pinadala mo na video sa akin nung natanggap mo na surprise ko sa yo nung nanalo OKC. Ang saya saya mo.”
He went on to honor Davey’s character and talent, saying many admired him in the industry. According to Ogie, Davey was not only gifted in music but was also known for his kindness and humility.
“Marami kami na nagmamahal sa yo at humahanga sa galing mo sa pag sulat at pag awit. Higit sa lahat sa napakabuti mong puso.”

Davey first rose to fame as a contestant on Pinoy Dream Academy in 2006. His other popular works include “Selfie Song” and “The Wedding Song.” He has passed away on October 22, after a battle with a rare spinal infection.

He also recalled how his career started with ABS-CBN back in 1991.

It has 84,000 likes and 82,000 followers on the said platform. As per the renowned singer-songwriter, the fake account falsely claimed that he has tuberculosis to scam people. The “It’s Showtime” host and “ASAP Natin ‘To” mainstay also urged his followers to report the account.
