Liza, whose real name is Hope Elizabeth Soberano, was born in California.

Her father is a Filipino, John Castillo Soberano, while her mother is an American, Jacqulyn Elizabeth Hanley.

She grew up in the U.S. under the care of her grandparents after her parents separated.

She then moved to Manila with her father at the age of 10.
