Melai admitted that she once fell out of love and described how their relationship nearly ended in separation. She said that pride, misunderstandings, and differences in moods and attitudes almost drove them apart, adding that Jason may have felt the same way during those difficult times.

“Alam mo hindi naman talaga tayo perfect kasi nafafall out of love tayo. Kaya yung sinasabi nilang fall out of love, that’s very normal sa relationship. Na fall out of love ako… May sobrang malala talaga… Muntik talaga maghiwalay… Siyempre, ugali natin kasi minsan may pride tayo na hindi talaga natin sinasadya, tao lang naman tayo. Minsan, wala tayo sa mood… Maraming reason talaga sa ugali pero thank you Lord napagtagumpayan,” Melai shared.

She recalled how a heartfelt conversation with Jason turned things around, even when she had already been preparing herself for a smooth breakup. But, according to her, God gave them a way to reconcile, and forgiveness became the key to keeping their marriage intact. “Huhupa din yung galit. Marerealize niyo, deserve ba ng mga anak niyo itong pride na pinakita mo? Kung hindi deserve ng anak mo, mag okay kayo… forgiveness is the key,” she added.

Melai and Jason first met inside the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2009, where their chemistry blossomed and gave birth to the popular love team “Melason.” After the reality show, the two continued their relationship and eventually got married in 2013. They are now proud parents to two daughters, Mela and Stela, who Melai said were a big reason why she and Jason chose to fight for their marriage.
