Angeli Pangilinan Valenciano, wife of music icon Gary Valenciano, spoke out in defense of her longtime friend Nadia Montenegro after the actress was named in an incident report at the Senate.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Pangilinan expressed disbelief over the controversy, describing Montenegro as a “deeply rooted Christian” who has long dedicated herself to community service while raising her eight children. “I read something terribly unjust about my dear friend of over 25 years Nadia Montenegro Pla! Nadia is a deeply rooted Christian who has been nonstop doing quiet community services and supporting her 8 children, all so wonderfully raised by her,” she wrote.
Pangilinan highlighted Montenegro’s involvement in the Artists-in-Touch ministry, a fellowship of entertainment industry figures including Ogie Alcasid, Kuh Ledesma, Tirso Cruz III, Audie Gemora, and others. She described the group as a family bound by prayer, mutual support, and shared values.
Referring to Montenegro’s health struggles, Pangilinan said, “Nadia has just come out of a battle with cancer and she nearly died. Why on earth would she even engage in substance abuse at the Senate? She is an intelligent, godly and brilliant woman, always silently helping the poor.”
Pangilinan emphasized that her friend did not ask for the public defense but insisted she could not remain silent. “Why would she ruin her testimony by what they are accusing her of!!!? But that’s just me. She didn’t ask me to write this post. I am just fiercely loyal to friends who have changed their lives and want to live righteously. I am praying for justice for Nadia !!!”
Montenegro has already denied the accusations against her.
Gary Valenciano is one of the most famous OPM artists and a television host in the Philippines. He is known as “Mr. Pure Energy” for his energetic and intense performances. He is married to Maria Anna Elizabeth "Angeli" Pangilinan, the sister of Senator Francis Pangilinan. They have three children: Paolo Valenciano, Gab Valenciano, and Kiana Valenciano.
In other news, Angeli Pangilinan, the wife of Gary Valenciano, posted about the condition of the singer, which necessitated him to cut the show short. She shared that he ingested something and vomited so many times. Despite that, Angeli said that Gary insisted on pushing through with the concert. After sometime, Angeli posted that Gary was okay and that he was simply dehydrated, and even posted a video clip of the singer assuring fans he's okay.
Earlier, Gary V has denied rumors in an interview with Ogie Diaz that he would be retiring from showbiz and then made clarifications on the title of his show, which he indicated could be his last major concert in a big venue. According to Mr. Pure Energy, he would continue to perform as long as his heart continue to beat.
