In her post, Yasmien shared a collage of cherished photographs spanning years of memories with Solis and poured out her grief in a heartfelt caption.

“I woke up today with a heavy heart, overwhelmed by the shocking news that Nanay Lolit Solis has passed away,” Yasmien began. “For ten wonderful years, she was more than just my manager, she was like a second Nanay to me. The memories we shared are filled with color, laughter, and love.”

The StarStruck alumna recalled Solis’s unwavering care even after her she settled down, saying the veteran columnist and manager continued to check on her and her family.

“I will forever cherish how her van smelled like food because it was like a moving kitchen full of desserts and snacks, a symbol of her warmth and generosity,” she wrote.

Yasmien also shared anecdotes of their travels abroad, recalling how Solis always insisted they be roommates despite their age gap.

“Even though I was the youngest, she always made me feel loved and protected. Our room was always filled with bread—simple but meaningful moments that made us closer.”

She recounted one particularly emotional moment that stayed with her over the years: during a trip abroad with other “alaga” or talents, Yasmien left to find a luggage cart without asking permission, prompting an angry scolding from Solis in front of others.

“I heard hurtful words she threw my way… I felt so embarrassed and cried,” she admitted. “But looking back, I realize that was her way of caring… always rooted in her love.”

The actress also reminisced about Solis’s quirky fondness for “harbat”—or little gifts and freebies—though most of them ended up being given to others who needed them more.

“That was her way of sharing her blessings,” Yasmien wrote. “She had a heart of stone at times, but beneath it was a love so genuine and deep.”

Solis, who managed the careers of some of the biggest stars in Philippine entertainment and penned one of the country’s most recognizable entertainment columns, leaves behind a legacy not just of celebrity success but of deep personal relationships marked by tough love and motherly affection.

Yasmien ended her tribute with a message filled with gratitude:

“Thank you, Nanay Lolit, for all the love, guidance, and beautiful memories. You will forever hold a special place in my heart. My family and I love you so much. Rest peacefully, and may you find the eternal happiness you deserve.”

Lolit Solis was a well-known personality in the Philippine showbiz industry. Born on May 20, 1947, in Sampaloc, Manila, she started her career as an entertainment news writer and later became a talent manager and host of television talk shows.

In another report, Manay Lolit expressed disappointment over the partial senatorial election results, particularly Bong Revilla’s low ranking. She was alarmed by the number of votes Willie Revillame received and said she couldn’t accept the idea of him becoming a senator. Solis claimed that electing someone like Revillame would make the elections feel like a comedy and even called it a bad dream. The columnist urged voters to be wise and to choose the best leaders as a reflection of trust in those who will run the country.

Previously, the veteran columnist posted a heartfelt birthday message for Lani Mercado, who turned 57 on April 13. She praised Lani’s strength, loyalty, and her role as the legal wife of Senator Bong Revilla despite his child outside their marriage. The showbiz columnist emphasized the value of being the legitimate wife and highlighted Lani’s dignity and grace through personal challenges. Lastly, Lolit expressed pride in Lani’s children and called her a loyal, unchanged, and admirable woman through the years.
