The pageant organization has announced that it will crown Opiaza as the Miss Grand International 2024.

The coronation will be held on June 3, 2025 at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.

The announcement came after the termination of Indian beauty queen Rachel Gupta's reign. Opiaza is next in line as the first runner-up of last year's MGI pageant held in Thailand.

“Time tells all. The CROWN has found its QUEEN.”

“Join us for the official coronation of Miss Grand International 2024 — Christine Juliane Opiaza, the first-ever Grand Queen from the #Philippines. Be part of this historic moment,” the announcement reads.

Previously, MGI founder Nawat Itsaragrisil has taken to social media to call Opiaza the “right person and real queen.”

Meanwhile, Opiaza took to Instagram to share a fierce post following the announcement.

“Rising from the golden ashes is a Phoenix who is ready for a comeback to conquer the grandest heights.”

“I am Christine Juliane Opiaza, Miss Grand International 2024 from the Philippines,” she proudly penned.

CJ Opiaza was crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2024 last September at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City. She also won five special awards, including Best in Swimsuit. In the previous year, she was hailed as first runner-up in the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant.

News, photos, or videos that arouse the interest of netizens would often go viral on social media due to the attention netizens give them. These viral posts appeal to the emotions of netizens, and in rare cases, such could also happen to ordinary people, making them very relatable.

Rachel Gupta, the former Miss Grand International 2024, recently released a tell-all video. In the video, Rachel alleged that she experienced "constant harassment" from the org. According to Rachel, the organization and its ways are on a "systemic level" as well. She also turned emotional after explaining why she decided to resign from her reign.

Rachel Gupta is an Indian model and beauty queen, who gained international recognition by becoming the first Indian to win the Miss Grand International title in October 2024. Her historic win at Miss Grand International 2024 in Bangkok was celebrated across India, marking a significant milestone in the country's pageant history.

In a previous report by KAMI, Miss Grand International President Nawat Itsaragrisil has banned Myanmar from the competition. This came after the breakdown of Ms. Myanmar after winners were announced, and after she rejected her 2nd runner-up award. In a press conference, Itsaragrisila asked what makes Miss Grand Myanmar Thae Su Nyein allegedly so delusional. He also said that if Thae wanted first place and must have it, she should just create her own pageant.
