Senator Bong Revilla Jr. was rushed to the hospital following an injury sustained while filming his upcoming movie project, "Alyas Pogi,” alongside co-stars Ara Mina and Epi Quizon.

In a Facebook live video on Tuesday night, Revilla disclosed that he suffered a partial tear of his Achilles heel during a running scene, prompting doctors to recommend surgery.

"Na-MRI na po ako kanina, and the doctor said my Achilles heel tear is at 50%, dahil sa pagtakbo… ang bilis ko raw tumakbo. Iyon mga, itong sinasabi na hindi na tayo bumabata, tumatanda na, but I am okay,” he shared.

Revilla expressed his frustration over the news, mentioning the lengthy recovery period of three to five months post-operation. Despite the setback, he reassured his supporters.

"Medyo matagal-tagal... after ng operation, three to five months ang healing. Nakakainis. Medyo malungkot na balita, but I am okay. We will know by tomorrow. Please pray for me," he said.

Bong Revilla Jr. is a famous action star in the Philippines and also a senator. He is married to actress and politician Lani Mercado.

In a past report, Lolit Solis revealed that she was not able to attend the wedding of Gianna Revilla, daughter of Senator Bong Revilla. The entertainment columnist could not make it to the wedding because she was not feeling well. Furthermore, Lolit said that the wedding venue was also too far away for her.
