Karen Reyes took to social media to share her terrifying experience with her son Lukas.

KAMI learned that Karen had to take Lukas to the hospital after his gums got swollen, canker sores appeared in his mouth, and his throat became painful. Lukas also suffered from fever and refused to eat food.
The young boy tested negative for COVID-19 but he was diagnosed with tonsillitis.
Fortunately, he is now getting better, although he is still in the hospital.

According to the doctor, eating too many sweets, not having enough vitamins, and not drinking enough water are some of the causes of mouth sores. The actress also warned parents to monitor their children closely if they have mouth sores.
“Nov4, nung nilagnat si Lukas akala ko non sa pagod lang. Nov5 lunchtime, kumakain pa sya at nakakadede. Nung hapon I noticed ang pamumula ng gums nya. So when I checked it up, nakakita ako ng mga singaw hanggang sa lalamunan.
“So ako na singawin sabi ko mawawala din. So I gave him paracetamol lang for the fever.
“Nov6 I’ve decided na ipa-teleconsult na sya so binigyan sya ng antibiotic. Ang hirap nya painumin dahil una, walang laman ang tyan nya, pangalawa masakit ang bibig nya!
“So nung madaling araw iyak na sya ng iyak dahil hindi na nga sya makadede. So nagdecide na ako na ipaospital sya (the fact na ang hirap talaga magpaospital ngayon, dumagdag pa ang pasakit dahil before iadmit need mag-paswab para hindi na ma-isolate with other patients na may covid symptoms so we have to wait for 24hrs para sa result ng RTPCR)
“Nov7, nanghihina na sya. Iba na din ang itsura ng muka nya, lumalamlam na ang mata nya. Dahil nga hindi makakain at makadede.
“So lumabas ang result ng RTPCR, which is Thank God negative… dumeretso na kami ng ER..
“After few days, wala naman nakitang ibang infections aside from the SINGAW!!! Yes, naospital si Lukas ng dahil sa singaw. dumagdag pa jan ang tonsillitis. Mygad. Ang laking pahirap para sakanya ng mga singaw na to..
“Update: until now mapula pa din ang gums nya pero nakakadede at nakakakain na sya paunti unti kahit may mga kaunting singaw pa sa dila. Pero nakaadmit pa din kami. Para makapag-antibiotic pa din.
“Sabi ng Doctor ang cause ng singaw is because mababa ang resistensya (so mga mommies, vitamins is REALLY A MUST tinigil ko kasi ang vits nya dahil iniluluwa nya lang) and because of too much sweet tapos konti ang water intake.
“Sa mga mommies out there, wag nating balewalain ang mga mga singaw kahit isang maliit lang yan dahil pwede sya magspread sa bibig since its viral. Thank you for all the get well wishes,” Karen wrote on Instagram.
Karen Reyes is an actress who broke through in showbiz by joining “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4”. She appeared in several movies, including “She’s Dating the Gangster”, “Beauty and the Bestie”, and “Mama’s Girl”.
The former PPB housemate used her YouTube channel to introduce her two kids with Sarkie Sarangay, the vocalist of the band “Silent Sanctuary”. Their children’s names are Olivia and Lucas.
In a previous report by KAMI, Karen Reyes revealed that she did not regret being private with her pregnancies.
